Hello!

Hello! My name is Dr. Rebecca (Becky) Speelman. I am so glad you are here right now! I hope we have the opportunity to meet in person soon, but until then…here is a little bit about me and Code West Scholars.
Over the past two decades, I’ve had the privilege of working across both the non-profit and for-profit sectors, gaining valuable insights from my experiences as an educator, leader, researcher, author, speaker, and consultant. Most importantly, being a mother of two amazing children has profoundly shaped my perspective on balancing life’s responsibilities while striving for meaningful success. As a retired show mom (our daughter recently aged out of youth events), I deeply understand the time, commitment, and expertise required to provide meaningful instructional support.
Rooted in the timeless principles of the Code of the West—integrity, self-reliance, courage, and respect—Code West Scholars is dedicated to empowering student-athletes and future leaders to achieve excellence beyond the arena.
We proudly offer expanded support for all youth—whether they are competing or at the shows supporting their families — by offering on-site and online assistance at shows all across North America, as well as online opportunities for year-round and just-in-time support. Our schedule is tailored to each family’s needs, with options for hourly, weekly, or monthly appointments.
Whether it’s academic tutoring, curricular resources, scholarship assistance, career exploration tools, or study skills coaching, I personally customize our services to align with each student’s unique interests and learning needs. I am able to act as a dedicated liaison between schools and students, partnering together for student success. By connecting with teachers before, during, and after working with your child, I offer consistent support to bridge the gap between the classroom and competition, empowering students to excel in every arena. This includes collaborating with organizations committed to leadership development. My goal is to provide meaningful insights and guidance that empower students to build crucial leadership abilities while mastering public speaking—a skill that inspires confidence and drives change.
I look forward to working together to support our most valuable asset, our Western youth scholars. They are the future leaders of our equine organizations, the ones who will carry on the legacy of our Western disciplines…and the timeless Code of the West.
God bless,
Rebecca (Becky)
